This opportunity offers a dynamic and impactful role supporting a kindergarten student who is new to their school experience and requires specialized communication assistance. The position is a full-time, contract role beginning as soon as possible and running through early June 2027. You will provide dedicated American Sign Language interpreting services one day per week initially, supporting the student in a 1:1 setting, with your remaining time spent as a paraprofessional until the student's schedule expands. As the student transitions to a full classroom schedule, your ASL interpreting hours will increase accordingly.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Indiana Sign Language Interpreter Certification EIPA score of at least 3.5 (written assessment passed or actively in process, with a scheduled test date) Proficiency in American Sign Language and comfortable with immersive 1:1 support for early elementary learners Ability to adapt and collaborate in both interpreting and paraprofessional capacities Commitment to working onsite throughout the duration of the assignment
