Qualifications:

Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Certification is required Prior experience supporting elementary-age students in educational settings preferred Proficiency in interpreting and transliterating between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct interpreting services for students, facilitating communication between students, teachers, and staff Support classroom participation and access to curriculum for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Collaborate with educational teams to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Adapt to various classroom subjects and activities, ensuring accurate and effective interpretation Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required
