Qualifications & Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with proven interpreting skills in educational settings Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (state or national credential preferred) Previous experience working in K-12 schools or with children/adolescents is highly valued Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Ability to collaborate with educators, specialists, and families Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced and evolving environments

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and teachers, staff, and peers Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, activities, and events Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations and access are effectively provided Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards at all times Participate in meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) reviews, and other relevant school functions as needed Consult with team members to help support student engagement and progress This role will allow you to immerse yourself in a collaborative educational community, utilizing your interpreting skills to empower students and support their learning journeys.
