Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract position as a Sign Language Interpreter in the New Orleans area and make a meaningful difference for high school students. This full-time role follows the academic calendar, offering a consistent schedule while supporting students' communication needs. The assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, with school placements and caseload details determined upon onboarding.
Key Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter EIPA score of 4.0 (performance and written) required and must be listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry Dept. of Health) RID and NIC certifications also accepted, provided the written component is on file Experience working with high school-aged students preferred Compliance with district-specific fingerprinting and drug screening in addition to agency credentialing
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide professional sign language interpretation for high school students, educators, and staff members in educational settings Facilitate clear communication in classrooms, assemblies, and special education meetings Support students participation in all school-related activities as assigned Collaborate with educational teams to maximize student engagement and learning Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards of the interpreting profession Perks of the
