Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a 1:1 Sign Language Interpreter serving students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. This position begins as soon as possible, extending through late May 2027, with a consistent full-time schedule in an engaging academic environment. Exact school location will be determined prior to your start date. Ideal candidates excel in facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their educational teams. As a vital member of the educational staff, youll empower your student(s) to access curriculum, participate meaningfully, and thrive in classroom and school activities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Sign Language Interpreter credential, with an EIPA score of 3.0 or higher Demonstrated expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) Previous experience providing interpretation in K-12 school settings preferred Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and professionalism Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to confidentiality and fostering inclusive environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, 1:1 interpretation services during academic lessons, school activities, and interactions Support student understanding and engagement in classroom discussions and extracurriculars Collaborate with teachers, staff, and related service providers to ensure consistent communication access Adapt signing style to individual student needs and classroom dynamics Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies Enjoy the stability of a long-term contract while making a meaningful difference in students educational experiences.
