Each day, you'll be immersed in the classroom setting, interpreting lessons and facilitating communication between the student, her peers, and school staff.

Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with the ability to provide accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments strongly preferred Certification as an interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state equivalent) is highly desirable Strong awareness of confidentiality and professional boundaries within a school setting Adaptability and excellent communication skills to keep pace with a dynamic classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

Accompany a 9th grade student to her classes and interpret all spoken exchanges in real time Support the student's engagement and understanding during lessons, group activities, and any school events Foster open communication between the student, educators, and classmates Adjust interpreting style as needed for specific classroom content and instructional formats Maintain records or notes as required by the school This is an immediate opening with a full-time schedule—six hours each school day—providing stability for the rest of the academic year.
