What you bring:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong understanding of Deaf culture Experience working as an interpreter in educational settings, preferably within K-12 schools Ability to interpret both one-on-one and in group/classroom situations Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills Strong organizational abilities and adaptability in dynamic classroom environments Relevant certifications for interpreting in schools (state or nationally recognized) Understanding of confidentiality and professional ethics related to student information What you'll do: Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities Support students in accessing curriculum and participating fully in school life Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and staff to tailor support as needed for individual students Assist in fostering an inclusive environment for Deaf and hard of hearing students Maintain clear, professional documentation related to interpreting services Participate in educational team meetings and contribute insights for student success
