Qualifications & Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with an ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher Previous experience in K-12 environments as a sign language interpreter preferred Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and families to provide seamless support Flexibility and adaptability for dynamic school settings Hold applicable certification or licensure as required for educational interpreting

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate effective communication between D/deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers, classmates, and other school personnel Interpret classroom discussions, instructional materials, announcements, and extracurricular activities Support individualized education plans by adapting to the specific needs of the student Maintain confidentiality and support an inclusive, positive learning environment Engage in ongoing professional development as needed Why consider this opportunity?
