Key Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency with an ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher. Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting, preferably supporting students in a 1:1 capacity. Ability to work collaboratively with educators, specialists, and parents. Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving student and classroom needs. Commitment to professional standards, confidentiality, and inclusivity. Open to both local and travel candidates willing to work on-site full-time.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one sign language interpreting services for a designated student during classroom instruction and school activities. Foster effective communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff. Assist in ensuring full participation and engagement for the student in all aspects of their educational experience. Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication in real time, accommodating for various learning environments. Contribute to Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings as required.
