Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting young learners in an engaging school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers consistent hoursMonday through Friday, 7:00am to 2:30pmfor a total of 35 hours each week. Youll work onsite in a welcoming elementary environment, contributing directly to student success and inclusion.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license required EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or possession of RID certification Experience interpreting in educational or school settings preferred Deep knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) Reliable, punctual, and prepared to arrive before students each day Collaborative, adaptable, and ready to engage with students and staff
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for elementary students during classroom instruction and school activities Adhere to all onsite-only requirements; remote or virtual work is not allowed Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Support educators and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment Prepare for daily assignments by being present ahead of student arrival This contract role spans the academic year from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering you the chance to make a significant impact over an extended period.
