Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing essential support as a Sign Language Interpreter within an elementary school setting. This full-time, onsite position begins as soon as possible and runs through May 20, 2027. Youll play a vital role in facilitating communication for students, educators, and school staff in a welcoming and collaborative learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

Current EIPA score of 3.0 or higher (required) Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally in schools or with children Strong understanding of deaf culture and the needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret in dynamic classroom environments Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced school setting Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to school policies

Primary Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for elementary students and staff Assist students during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings Collaborate with teachers, administration, and special education staff to ensure student access to curriculum and school communications Support a positive, inclusive educational experience for all students Uphold district guidelines and ethical interpreting standards
