If you have a passion for helping children access their education and a strong background in sign language interpreting, this role offers a chance to make a meaningful difference each day.
Role Highlights:
Full-time contract position, 32 hours per week Work closely with an elementary-aged student for the entire school year Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to provide seamless communication access Adapt interpreting methods to fit a dynamic classroom environment
Qualifications and Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in an educational setting Knowledge of Deaf culture and the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing Flexibility to interpret across academic subjects and school activities Ability to build supportive, professional relationships with students and school personnel Relevant certification or license for interpreting in a school setting (preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
