The position is located near Dewey, OK, with services needed in Bartlesville and a welcomed start as soon as possible, continuing through May 2027. Bring your expertise to a welcoming school environment, working 1:1 with a middle school student and collaborating with teachers to ensure accessible, engaging communication for all classroom activities.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Minimum 3.5 EIPA score required Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school or educational setting Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Proficient in interpreting spoken language to American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa Open to both onsite and VOCO (virtual interpreting) arrangements; preference given to onsite availability Professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to student confidentiality Familiarity with the needs of middle school-aged children is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and fluent sign language interpretation for a middle school student during instructional hours Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff Prepare for classroom activities by reviewing lesson materials when needed Adapt interpreting style to match student learning needs and teacher communication style Maintain professionalism and uphold ethical guidelines in educational interpreting
