Pipe Mill Operator

Job Description

The Pipe Mill Attendant supports pipe manufacturing operations by assisting with machine setup, monitoring production, handling materials, and ensuring product quality and workplace safety. This role works closely with mill operators and supervisors to maintain efficient production operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the setup, operation, and shutdown of pipe mill equipment Monitor production processes and promptly report abnormalities or equipment issues Measure and inspect pipe products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards Perform basic adjustments and minor maintenance under supervision Remove scrap material and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements Accurately complete required production, quality, and safety documentation Assist operators during changeovers and maintenance activities Perform other general labor duties as assigned Manufacturing or mill experience preferred, but not required Mechanical aptitude is a must Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and reaching Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment (heat, cold, dust, noise) Ability to work around heavy equipment and moving machinery
Work Environment:
Industrial steel manufacturing facility Shop is not climate controlled Exposure to loud noise, metal shavings, and moving equipment Safety Must follow all company safety policies and procedures Pre-Employment Drug Screening Requirement All applicants must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment.
