Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Khmer Interpreter Per Diem to provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services across various settings. Duties Provide real-time interpretation services between Khmer-speaking clients and English-speaking professionals across medical, social work, and community settings. Utilize video remote interpretation (VRI) platforms to deliver timely language support when in-person services are unavailable. Conduct over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) for urgent or remote communication needs, ensuring accuracy and professionalism. Translate medical terminology accurately for medical records, patient documentation, and clinical reports while adhering to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality policies. Support clinical teams by interpreting during patient assessments, treatment planning, child protective services cases, and hospital visits. Review documentation for clarity, completeness, and compliance with clinical ethical guidelines and cultural competency standards. Maintain detailed records of interpretation sessions, ensuring proper documentation review and confidentiality at all times. Uphold professional ethics by demonstrating cultural competency, respecting client privacy, and following hospital experience protocols related to medical interpretation. Experience Proven experience as a bilingual interpreter with a focus on medical or clinical settings preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in translation of medical terminology and medical translation services. Experience with video remote interpretation (VRI) platforms and over-the-phone interpretation (OPI). Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and healthcare documentation standards. Knowledge of cross-cultural communication principles aligned with clinical cultural competency standards. Familiarity with social work procedures, hospital environments, medical records management, and child protective services protocols is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining professionalism and ethical integrity.
