We are seeking a qualified and experienced Remote Sign Language Interpreter (STI) to provide virtual interpreting services for K-12 educational settings across Alabama. This position supports students, educators, and families by ensuring clear and effective communication in remote learning and meeting environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's level degree in ASL or Educational Interpreting.
EIPA Score:
3.5-4.5 (or higher). RID Certification preferred. NIC Certification preferred. Minimum 3+ years of professional experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings. Experience interpreting for K-12 students, teachers, and school staff in public schools and/or Schools for the Deaf in Alabama. Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL). Experience providing remote interpreting services for: Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings Remote educational interpreting
Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and professional remote interpretation for students, teachers, parents, and school personnel. Support communication during classroom instruction, IEP meetings, medical appointments, and other virtual sessions. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards and ethics. Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills in a remote work environment.
Compensation & Schedule:
Pay:
$32
  • 38 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
