Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in Stockton, CA, has immediate openings for six skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support diverse educational environments. This opportunity offers a mix of full-time and part-time contract positions, providing flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' learning experiences.
Responsibilities include:
Interpreting for students in special education (SPED) classrooms for full-time roles Supporting general education classrooms for part-time roles Collaborating with educators and support staff to facilitate communication and inclusion Maintaining professionalism and accuracy in conveying educational content Upholding district standards, including achieving a minimum EIPA score of 4.0
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required Ability to work onsite at Stockton schools (remote work not available) Familiarity with mild to moderate special education needs is preferred Bilingual Spanish skills highly desirable due to the district's predominantly Spanish-speaking community
