As an interpreter working with OCIN you will facilitate communication between English speakers and ELL (English Language Learners) in different settings. Interpreters break language barriers between English speakers and ELL individuals by interpreting the message from one language to another, maintaining accuracy and clarity. Interpreters work as independent contractors, thus in their own schedule. They can accept or decline jobs. All experience levels are welcome. The state of Oregon requires interpreters to be registered with the state. They must complete a 60-hour training, proof of a HS diploma, and proof of proficiency in the target language.
