This contract opportunity offers the chance to support students and staff at one of several welcoming campuses located throughout coastal South Carolina during the 2026-2027 school year. Youll be placed at a single campus based on best fit and preferences, with opportunities available at both elementary and secondary levels. Help bridge the gap between spoken English and American Sign Language, ensuring all students have equal access to their education in a supportive environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Hold a 3.5 or higher EIPA score Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings Strong mastery of both American Sign Language (ASL) and English Excellent interpersonal communication skills Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse student populations Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards

Key Responsibilities:

Provide classroom interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to facilitate effective communication Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all Support students with accuracy and clarity across academic and extracurricular contexts Adhere to ethical guidelines and best practices set by professional organizations Attend school events, meetings, and trainings as required This full-time, 37.5 hours per week role offers a dynamic work schedule across the academic year and the chance to grow your skills in a rewarding environment.
