Qualifications & Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and thorough understanding of Deaf culture Prior experience interpreting in K-12 school settings is highly valued Capability to interpret in both one-on-one and group instructional environments National certification (e.g., EIPA, RID) or state credentials, or eligibility to acquire Strong interpersonal skillsflexible and responsive to the dynamic needs of students and staff Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards

Responsibilities:

Provide real-time ASL interpretation for students, staff, and families during classroom instruction, activities, and meetings Adapt interpreting style and language to ensure clear communication for diverse age groups and learning abilities Support classroom participation and learning for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff Accurately interpret educational materials and individualized education plans (IEPs) Remain engaged, punctual, and reliable across varying assignments This contract role offers the chance to gain varied experience and contribute to a supportive educational atmosphere.
