Virtual Sign Language Interpreter | South Carolina VocoVision - 4.0 Columbia, SC Job Details Full-time | Contract 16 hours ago Qualifications School experience Educational interpretation Certified Sign Language Interpreter American Sign Language Interpretation experience within education industry Full Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A position is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services, supporting middle school students with 1:1 needs. This contract role is based in Columbia, SC, with a start time of 8:20 a.m. and full-time hours. The assignment extends until May 28, 2027.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing accurate and effective sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions for middle school students. Facilitating clear communication between students and educational or healthcare professionals. Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethical standards. Collaborating remotely to ensure seamless support for student learning and health services.
Desired qualifications and experience:
Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter with experience in telehealth or educational settings. Comfort with 1:1 student support, especially with middle school-aged children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a virtual environment. Relevant certifications and compliance with state regulations for sign language interpretation.
