Job Description
Bring your expertise in sign language interpreting to a dynamic educational environment, supporting middle school students in a multi-categorical classroom setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact throughout the school year, collaborating with passionate educators and supporting two students with unique learning needs. The assignment runs from now through May 27th, 2027, providing consistent full-time hours. What you'll bring: Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (mandatory per SC state requirements) High school diploma or equivalent Successful completion of the written EIPA exam Ability to pass a background check and commitment to SLI Code of Ethics (handled during onboarding) Comfort and professionalism working with students on the spectrum; CPI or behavioral training is available if desired, but not required Experience in a school setting and with middle school-aged students is a plus Your responsibilities will include: Providing sign language interpretation for two middle school students in the same classroom for all shared classes Ensuring clear, accurate, and timely communication during instruction and classroom activities Supporting each students engagement and participation while collaborating with classroom staff Following one student with a behavioral plan for a single class block each day (all behavioral management is handled by dedicated staff) Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional and ethical standards in all interactions The environment you'll thrive in is one where collaboration, dedication, and advocacy are deeply valued.
