Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by utilizing your expertise in sign language interpretation within a school environment near Little Mountain, SC. This full-time contract opportunity allows you to provide vital support to students, fostering clear communication and helping to create an inclusive learning atmosphere. Located just 40 minutes northwest of Columbia, the area offers a welcoming community atmosphere and convenient access to city amenities.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and relevant certification required Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in an educational setting, is highly desirable Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and staff Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative approach Capability to adapt communication styles based on individual student needs

Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school-wide events to ensure full participation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students Collaborate with teachers and support staff to facilitate seamless communication Provide interpretation for meetings, assemblies, and extracurricular activities as needed Foster an inclusive, supportive educational environment Maintain confidentiality and follow all ethical guidelines pertaining to student privacy
