Step into an exciting contract opportunity supporting two middle school students in a multi-categorical classroom environment. Your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter will play a key role in ensuring these students have full access to classroom instruction and interactions. You'll serve in a collaborative, inclusion-focused setting, working alongside the educational team while solely concentrating on interpreting needs—behavioral plans are managed by dedicated staff. Assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through May 27, 2027, with a full-time weekly schedule (37.5 hours). Your role covers all shared classes for both students, providing simultaneous interpreting. For one class block, you will accompany a student who is on the spectrum, following their schedule while staff oversee behavioral supports. If additional confidence or skills are desired, district CPI or behavioral training can be made available.
Desired Qualifications:
EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (South Carolina's new statewide requirement, non-negotiable) Successful completion of both the EIPA written and performance assessments High school diploma or higher Ability to pass a background check and commitment to sign the SLI Code of Ethics during onboarding
