Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a valued sign language interpreter. In this full-time role, you'll work closely with two students in a multi-categorical classroom, providing essential communication access while collaborating with a dedicated educational team. Your skills will help empower students daily from now through May 27th, 2027. The primary responsibility involves interpreting for both students, who typically attend classes together. For one class block, you'll accompany a student who has a behavioral plan; however, you'll focus solely on interpretingspecialized behavioral support is already in place. If you prefer additional training in crisis prevention or behavioral strategies, arrangements can be made through the school district.
Key Experience & Qualifications:
Holds a minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required by new state guidelines) Successfully passed the written EIPA test Possesses at least a high school diploma Ability to complete a background check and sign the SLI Code of Ethics (handled during onboarding) Previous experience in a school setting or with multi-categorical classrooms is highly valued
