As an experienced Sign Language Interpreter, youll play a vital role in helping students access their learning, participate fully in class activities, and succeed academically.

What Youll Bring:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English Previous experience working in educational settings preferred National Interpreter Certification (NIC), EIPA, or equivalent credentials highly desired Strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and support services Adaptability to various classroom settings and student needs Compassion, reliability, and a commitment to empowering students

Your Day-to-Day:

Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and other school-related activities Convey both verbal and non-verbal communication clearly and accurately Support communication between students, teachers, and peers Adjust interpreting techniques for different age groups and subject matters Provide cultural mediation when appropriate to promote understanding Assist with note-taking and clarification as needed Maintain a supportive and respectful atmosphere that fosters student growth
