Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Current, active license as a sign language interpreter Experience interpreting in educational settingsideally at the high school level Strong communication and collaboration skills Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to support use of assistive listening devices Commitment to promoting student independence and facilitating social engagement

Key Responsibilities:

Provide sign language interpretation for a 9th grade student, both in academic classes and extracurricular activities, including school theater Collaborate with school staff to facilitate effective communication and access to curriculum Support the students use of a Cochlear Implant and ALD (assistive listening device) Encourage social interaction and offer communication support with peers and teachers Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times This engaging role offers a consistent schedule every Friday for 6.5 hours, making it a great fit for those seeking part-time contract work with a meaningful impact.
