Interpreting is performed by contract interpreters.

Director of InterpretingJOB SUMMARY
The Scheduling Coordinator handles the initial scheduling of sign language interpreter requests and supports customers and Deaf consumers throughout the scheduling process, working with the Coverage and Support Coordinator and contract interpreters to move each request to a confirmed assignment. Interpreting is performed by contract interpreters.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Receive and review interpreter requests; enter complete information, create or update customer records, prepare requested quotes, and establish bookings in the scheduling platform. Send, receive, verify, and update service agreements; upload executed agreements and maintain related billing records. Support customers and Deaf consumers through cancellations, assignment changes, preference updates, and concern resolution. Verify interpreter assignment for upcoming appointments and refer consumers to Access for educational and advocacy support. Coordinate emergency and complex bookings, including multiple day assignments requiring supplemental information. Coordinate booking updates and required documentation with the Coverage and Support Coordinator.OTHER JOB DUTIES
Communicate directly in American Sign Language with coworkers, interpreters, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers, in person and by videophone. Maintain accurate scheduling records and prepare requested reports on request volume, fill status, and service type. Follow professional standards, organizational policies, and confidentiality requirements; complete other related duties as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONS
American Sign Language proficiency and an understanding of Deaf culture and community norms. Clear, professional communication in writing, by video, by telephone, and in person, with strong customer service and conflict resolution. Ability to manage concurrent requests in a fast paced environment and exercise sound judgment within established procedures. Proficiency with scheduling software and standard office applications. Successful completion of a background check.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of scheduling experience. Expressive and receptive American Sign Language proficiency sufficient for direct communication with coworkers, interpreters, and consumers.DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Preferred:
associate or bachelor's degree; two or more years of scheduling or coordination experience in interpreting, healthcare, education, or social services; experience with interpreter scheduling software or Salesforce; and experience working within the Deaf community.WORK SCHEDULE
Remote, with one required in office day per week in Dallas plus mandatory in person meetings and training as scheduled.Regular schedule:
Monday through Friday (8:00am to 4:30pm)COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$41,000 to $44,000 annually, equal to $19.71 to $21.15 per hour, with placement reflecting scheduling experience and American Sign Language proficiency.
