Primary Qualifications:

Valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or the Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (BEI I or II under the previous system, Basic under the current system) Experience interpreting for diverse age groups, ideally in educational settings Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students Ability to provide clear communication access in both classroom and campus environments Completion of district-specific fingerprinting and background check prior to start Preparedness for a preliminary "prescreen" interview to assess suitability for the school setting

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver real-time American Sign Language interpretation between students, staff, and peers Support instructional needs for a caseload with a student group to be determined (PK-8) Foster an inclusive and accessible academic environment that empowers student engagement Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times Collaborate with educators, therapists, and support staff to create a positive learning experience This contract begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule totaling 37.5 hours at a single campus.
