School Year:

2026 - 2027 Responsibilities Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and other educational events Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success Promote student independence while ensuring equal access to instruction and school activities Participate in team meetings and professional development as appropriate Qualifications Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score meeting Washington State requirements, or equivalent qualification Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one, if required) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills School-based interpreting experience preferred, but qualified candidates from other settings are encouraged to apply Benefits
