Key Qualifications:

National certification or equivalent credential in Sign Language Interpretation Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience working with young children, preferably in a school or early childhood setting Strong interpersonal and communication skills for positive collaboration with teachers, staff, and families Professionalism, reliability, and sensitivity to cultural and language differences Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school-related policies

Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction and activities between students, staff, and teachers Support the communication needs of preschool students who are deaf or hard of hearing Foster an inclusive, accessible environment for all learners Adapt interpreting style to suit classroom activities, play-based learning, and daily routines Collaborate with teachers and specialists to optimize the students educational experience Provide feedback and insight to support the students progress and participation Ensure respectful, confidential handling of all student and school information
