Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required Previous experience interpreting within K-12 schools highly preferred Compliance with state and national certification standards for sign language interpreting Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, and families Flexibility to adapt to different age groups, classroom settings, and levels of signing proficiency

Primary Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and events for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers in academic and non-academic settings Travel between multiple school sites as assigned, ensuring consistent support Participate in meetings, trainings, and conferences as needed Maintain confidentiality and display professionalism in all interactions
