We are seeking an Electrical & Lighting Solutions Specialist to help develop relationships with commercial customers and identify opportunities for AET's electrical and lighting services. This position is especially well suited for someone with electrical or lighting industry experience who is ready to move away from the physical demands of working in the field. If you're an experienced electrician who knows the trade, understands lighting, communicates well with customers, and is ready to get off the tools, this could be an excellent next step. This is an in-person position based at our headquarters in Tempe, Arizona , with regular local travel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. What You'll Be Doing As our Electrical & Lighting Solutions Specialist, you will use your technical knowledge and communication skills to develop commercial relationships and identify opportunities where AET can help.
Responsibilities include:
Develop relationships with commercial property managers, facility managers, building owners, and other decision-makers Identify commercial properties and businesses that may need electrical or lighting services Prospect through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, networking, and in-person visits Visit commercial properties and businesses throughout the Valley Discuss electrical and lighting problems with customers Use your technical knowledge to understand customer needs and identify potential solutions Identify opportunities for LED upgrades, lighting retrofits, exterior lighting maintenance, electrical repairs, and recurring service agreements Explain AET's services clearly and professionally Schedule inspections, estimates, and other next steps Follow up consistently with prospects and opportunities Maintain accurate customer information and activity in our CRM Work closely with AET's service, estimating, and operations teams You will receive training on AET's services, systems, and business development process. Strong electrical and/or lighting knowledge is highly valued. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Has meaningful electrical, lighting, or related technical experience Understands electrical terminology and commercial lighting Is comfortable discussing technical subjects with customers Enjoys meeting and talking with people Is confident initiating conversations with business professionals Is self-motivated and organized Is persistent and consistent with follow-up Communicates professionally Can work independently and take ownership of responsibilities Is comfortable learning and using CRM and other computer software Is motivated by measurable results You do not have to be a career salesperson. An experienced electrician, electrical technician, lighting technician, estimator, project coordinator, or other technical professional who wants to transition into a customer-facing business development role may be an excellent fit. Previous B2B sales experience is a plus, but technical knowledge, communication skills, work ethic, and personality are equally important.
