The Visual and Applied Performing Arts department is recruiting for Theatre Technicians on a short-term and part-time basis. The work includes support work in one or more support areas involved in live stage productions including lighting, sound, and general stage work as assigned. Days and hours are variable and based on the department needs. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required. This short-term assignment is a non-benefitted position.Note:
Each year, part-time pools will be refreshed and applicants will be notified of the opportunity to re-submit an application. Examples of Duties Miscellaneous theater work. Minimum QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- Principles, techniques, methods and equipment used for performing arts productions including, as assigned, sound, lighting, and staging preparation.
- Safe operation of theatrical and performing arts equipment and tools.
- Theatrical lighting and sound, setup and operation of related equipment, depending on assignment.
Skills and Abilities to:
- Safely operate performing arts technical equipment and tools used for performing art productions.
- Advise and instruct others in the technical aspects of performing arts productions.
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Additional Information Starting Salary Range:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour. Short-term and part-time assignment with variable hours based on the department's needs; hours may vary according to semester schedules, holidays and events.Application Process:
