Game Technician - Job Description General Overview The Game Technician is a hands-on technical role requiring a background in electrical, mechanical, and general technical systems to ensure the efficient operation of all Fort Frenzy assets. The overall responsibilities encompass the physical appearance, safety inspections, operations, repairs, reporting, and training for support staff, including gameroom attendants and attraction personnel. Assets under this position's purview include, but are not limited to, video and redemption games, motion simulators, cranes, and other credit and non-credit actuated attractions. Key Operational Standards The standard objective for operational equipment is 100% functionality. Equipment that is non-operational for more than 12 hours must be removed from the show floor to the technical room until it is fully restored. Due to assembly or size constraints, if equipment cannot be removed, it must be visually marked with approved signage clearly identifying that it is out of order and specifying the expected date of repair. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance and Technical Management Maintain 100% individual game functionality. Manage and maintain all arcade, laser tag, hologate, and computer/server equipment. Assist in the management and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical attractions and equipment. Manage the network and swipe readers for all debit card systems. Control the percentage payouts for all points-based games. Engage in continued education regarding the electronics and mechanics of all equipment owned and/or operated by Fort Frenzy. Inventory and Procurement Serve as the liaison for all related vendors for communication, ordering, parts inventory management, and shipment tracking. Manage and maintain a streamlined inventory of game spare parts to effectively manage costs. All orders must be submitted for approval to the Arcade and Attractions Manager prior to placement. Report to the appropriate department head when orders are required for items outside this department's direct responsibility. Training and Staff Development Provide effective training to assistants and gameroom attendants to ensure the highest level of performance. Instruct general staff on game troubleshooting, ticket installation, prize restocking in cranes and prize games, and overall preventative maintenance. Ensure staff adheres to guidelines for direct and complete reporting of equipment repair needs, physical appearance issues, and safety concerns. Administration and Reporting Maintain meticulous documentation and records on all equipment, operational status, inventory, orders, parts, repairs, and crane prizes. Provide a weekly status update to the Arcade and Attractions Manager regarding all equipment and attractions. Post and maintain standardized opening and closing responsibility lists for all positions/assets relevant to this role. Provide End of day check-ins with the Arcade and Attractions Manager. A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Arcade and Attractions Manager and has no direct reports. Management reserves the right to add or edit duties as deemed necessary to maintain personnel dynamics, workflow, and other future responsibilities throughout the facility.
