Permanent Lighting Installation Technician Position Overview Permanent Lighting PDX is looking for a reliable, hardworking Permanent Lighting Installation Technician to join our installation team. This is a hands-on outdoor position installing professional permanent architectural and holiday lighting systems on residential and commercial properties. We are looking for someone with construction, roofing, electrical, low-voltage, exterior installation, or similar contractor experience who is comfortable working from ladders and on roofs. Our technicians are responsible for delivering clean, professional installations and providing customers with a finished product that looks like it was designed as part of the home. Responsibilities Install permanent LED lighting systems on residential and commercial properties Install color-matched aluminum track along fascia, gutters, soffits, and rooflines Measure, cut, fit, and securely fasten lighting track for a clean custom installation Run and conceal low-voltage wiring Install power supplies, controllers, and related system components Make low-voltage electrical connections and troubleshoot lighting systems Work safely from extension ladders and on residential roofs Maintain straight, consistent, professional-looking installations Test completed systems and verify proper operation before leaving the job Assist customers with basic app setup and system operation when needed Maintain tools, ladders, equipment, and company vehicles Keep jobsites clean and organized Communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, and other team members Qualifications Contractor or construction-related experience is required. Ideal candidates may have experience in: Roofing Gutters Siding Electrical or low-voltage wiring Solar installation HVAC Exterior construction Christmas light installation Landscape lighting Cable or telecommunications installation Candidates should also: Be comfortable working at heights and on ladders Be comfortable working on residential roofs Be able to safely lift and carry ladders, tools, and materials Have strong attention to detail Be mechanically inclined and comfortable using power tools Be dependable and arrive to work on time Be able to follow installation specifications and safety procedures Work well independently and as part of a crew Maintain a professional appearance around customers Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation What We're Looking For We aren't looking for someone who simply wants to hang lights.
