Position Information Requisition Number Stu700P Position Type Student Worker Department Department of Student Workers Job Title Summer Workshop Student Technician/ Supervisor - Live Audio and/or Lighting Classification Student Worker Pay Rate $1000 Stipend payment Position Summary Information Hours per week June 14 morning- June 20 afternoon Days Worked Varies Hours/Shift worked Varies Posting Detail Information Job Summary/Basic Function Student workers will assist with workshops taking place in WVPAC and Dutcher facilities or on field trips as part of the week. They may be asked to step up as a performer or engineer or to speak to students from their own experiences as a live audio production and/or lighting student. They will assist in supervising students during the day and take on the role of primary supervisor after dinner and overnight in the dorms. Required Qualifications Must be Music Industry/Live Audio or Production or Entertainment Technology major at Millersville University and have taken at least one live audio class and lighting class. Must be free for entire duration of the workshop schedule. Must be proficient in basic live audio and/or lighting. Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI fingerprints) Preferred Qualifications Job Duties Live Audio Setup and Mixing assistance as needed, Lighting assistance as needed.
Equipment Setup and moving:
Set up and break down audio equipment for sessions and move equipment from one building to another if needed.
Student Support:
Provide guidance and assistance to students and faculty on the use of equipment. Train users on best practices for live show preparation.
Student Supervision:
Keep track of students and foster a safe and welcoming learning environment. This will extend to light planning and running of casual activities after dinner and before lights out.
Project Management:
Collaborate with students and faculty to schedule and coordinate performance projects. Ensure timely completion of projects and maintain organized records.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all equipment and procedures comply with university safety regulations and best practices in show preparation.
