Job Description

Position Summary The Lighting Auditor plays a critical role in the sales and project development process by performing detailed lighting and electrical field audits at commercial, industrial, and retail facilities throughout North America. This position serves as the "eyes in the field," collecting accurate technical information used to develop lighting retrofit proposals, utility incentive applications, engineering documents, and project estimates. Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive lighting and electrical audits of commercial, retail, industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, and institutional facilities.
  • Identify and document existing lighting fixtures, lamps, ballasts, LED drivers, controls, occupancy sensors, emergency lighting, exit signs, and lighting layouts.
  • Count and classify all lighting equipment using company audit software and established procedures.
  • Measure building dimensions, mounting heights, ceiling heights, aisle layouts, and lighting levels.
  • Utilize laser measuring equipment to accurately document dimensions.
  • Use a digital multimeter (voltage meter) to verify circuit voltage (120V, 208V, 240V, 277V, 347V, 480V), fixture operating voltage, wattage/load where applicable, line/load verification, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Identify fixture wattages, ballast and driver types, lamp technologies, and electrical configurations.
  • Document branch circuits, panel locations, switching methods, and lighting controls.
  • Capture photographs and field notes for estimating and utility rebates.
  • Recognize and document electrical deficiencies impacting retrofit installations.
  • Prepare organized audit reports using Excel and audit software.
  • Partner with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety procedures. Qualifications
  • Experience with commercial electrical and lighting systems preferred.
  • Experience performing lighting audits or electrical inspections preferred.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, laser measuring equipment, and digital multimeters.
  • Ability to identify common commercial voltages, drivers, ballasts, switches, and controls.
  • Strong understanding of fluorescent, HID, LED, emergency lighting, and controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Experience with SnapCount or similar software preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to safely operate or successfully complete company training to operate aerial work platforms, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, bucket trucks, and other personnel lift equipment.
  • Comfortable working in active retail, warehouse, manufacturing, commercial, and industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical panel schedules preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, clamp meters, and non-contact voltage testers.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
