This position reports to:
R D Engineer __ In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's product development and marketing initiatives by developing, managing, and executing conformity assessment activities. The Technical Publication Technician is responsible for creating technical product documents and associated artwork such as instruction sheets, technical data sheets, product nameplates, artwork for product packaging and product marking artworks used to provide critical product information to the end customer. Version control and approval routings are critical elements for these documents due to legal exposure. The work model for the role is: Onsite in Memphis, TN. This role is contributing to the ELIP division inUS/LATAM.
(#LI-Onsite)Your Role and Responsibilities:
Creation and maintenance of all Technical Publications within our branding and legal guidelines for others within the organization to follow. Plan/Create/Edit technical documents from conceptual ideas to finished artwork products through the effective use of product illustrations and engineering provided technical information. Create high quality product illustrations (i.e. 2D & 3D) from product drawings, physical samples and conceptual sketches. Ensure the accuracy and style consistency of all technical publications. Ensure documents have had proper review and approvals prior to releasing for publication. Maintain original master files and public files for artwork and documents issued and distributed through Technical Documentation. Work closely with outside art services and print suppliers. Complete projects in compliance with departmental work instructions. Use business software for research and documentation validation. Train and guide others in Technical Publications support activities. Collaborate with groups throughout the organization including but not limited to Marketing, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Engineering and Product Management.Qualifications for the role:
Associate's degree in graphic arts, CAD/drafting, or related discipline Minimum three years' experience. Must have demonstrated written and verbal technical communication and illustration skills. Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with projects. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills required. Proficiency usingAdobe Cloud:
Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro and InDesign. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work on many projects simultaneously in high pressure and fast paced environment within project deadlines. Ability to concentrate and perform complex tasks for sustained periods.
