Job Description

Overview The Media Ministry Specialist will oversee, maintain, and execute the multi-channel electronic and digital media infrastructure of First American Baptist Church. This critical role bridges our physical sanctuary worship experience with our expanding digital congregation, ensuring reliable, high-quality broadcasts, system accountability, and consistent multi-platform availability.
Duties Sanctuary A/V Initialization:
Arrive on-site each Sunday at 9:00 AM to perform full system testing. Open all local monitors, test wireless sanctuary microphones, turn on property audio speakers, and power on the main mixing soundboard ahead of the 10:00 AM service launch.
Multi-Platform Stream Engineering:
Set up, monitor, and execute real-time virtual broadcasts utilizing Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). Successfully manage simultaneous high-definition streams to YouTube, Facebook Live, and Zoom systems.
WordPress Platform Administration:
Act as the core technical editor for the church's official WordPress website portal to upload weekly programming documents, amend local page layouts, and publish financial or operational announcements.
Digital Asset Archive:
Download complete high-definition recordings immediately following services and securely log files inside designated folders on the church's central Google Drive ecosystem. Forward all raw materials to designated content creation teams.
Contingency Music Support:
Maintain system capabilities to search, pull up, and broadcast digital accompaniment files or pre-recorded video presentation elements to support worship settings if sanctuary musicians are unavailable.
Operational Sustainability:
Assist leadership in updating the ongoing system operations manual and train backup assistants or secondary volunteers to safeguard operational continuity during times of personal absence.
Technical Competencies and Experience Experience Level:
1 to 3 years of hands-on experience working inside digital media operations, live streaming, engineering fields, or equivalent corporate/ministry tech arrays. College students pursuing information systems degrees are highly encouraged to apply.
System Toolkit:
Fluent with Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), WordPress content editors, Canva graphics, creation tools, Google Drive architectures, and layout structures across main streaming applications (Zoom, Facebook, YouTube).
Operational Attributes:
Energetic, self-motivated, and capable of operating under structured production deadlines. Must display a professional, respectful, and cooperative attitude comfortable working inside a faith-based church setting.

$100.00 per week
