A room where the mix is right, the lights serve the moment, and nothing breaks is a room where nobody is thinking about the tech at all. That's the job. We're looking for a Production Director who is genuinely excellent at the craft, hungry to build something rather than maintain it, and who understands that every fader and fixture exists to help people meet Jesus. If you've been in a room where your ideas got answered with "no budget" or "we've always done it this way," this is a different kind of room. Innovation here is welcomed, resourced, and expected. The Church Atmosphere Church is a growing church in Westlake Village, California, in the Conejo Valley just outside Los Angeles.

Specifically:

The Sunday experience. Audio, lighting, video, and screens across every gathering

• consistently excellent, week after week, with no drama and no surprises.

A team, not a schedule. A volunteer production team that is recruited, genuinely trained (off-platform, never during a live gathering), scheduled at least a month out, and actually known and cared for. You'll decide how that care happens; we'll measure whether people stay, grow, and want to bring their friends. The technical environment. System health, maintenance, upgrade planning, and the recommendations that shape where we invest next. You'll own an annual production budget and have a real seat in capital decisions. Atmosphere Online. The streaming and post-service experience

• quality, reliability, and the handoff of online guests to people who can follow up with them. Creative partnership. Working alongside the Worship Pastor, Creative team, and Next Gen Worship Director so that service elements are planned, built, and executed together rather than handed off at the last minute. What comes next. Bringing us ideas we haven't thought of yet
• in immersive audio, lighting design, video storytelling, live automation, IMAG, AI-assisted workflows, whatever serves the moment.

We would rather resource a good idea than protect a comfortable status quo. Your First Year Here's what we'd celebrate twelve months in: Sundays are boringly excellent. No week where the tech is what people remember. The team has depth. Every critical position has at least two trained, confident volunteers

• so no single person is a point of failure, including you.

A documented three-year technical roadmap:

what we have, what's aging, what we invest in and when. Something new happened. At least one thing we do on a Sunday is something we couldn't do the year before, and you're the reason. Who You Are 5+ years in live production

• church, touring, corporate events, or broadcast

If your background is commercial and this would be your first church role, we want to talk to you. A genuine craftsperson. You have opinions about gain structure and gel choices, and you can defend them. A builder of people. You'd rather train a nervous volunteer into a confident one than run every service yourself. Your best measure of success is how well the room runs when you're not in it. Calm when it counts. Something will fail thirty seconds before a set. You get quieter, not louder. A systems thinker. You document, label, plan ahead, and follow through. The booth you leave behind is one the next person can walk into. Comfortable with people, not just gear. This role is deeply relational

The Rhythm of the Role We'd rather be straight with you than surprise you later: Sundays are the job. This is a Sunday-facing role with a mid-week rhythm; your weekend is our Monday. Seasons peak. Easter, Christmas Eve, retreats, worship nights, and Serve Days are all-in weekends for our whole staff. About 40-45 hours in a normal week, more in a peak one — and we expect you to take real time off in the valleys. Burning out our director is not a win for anybody. Occasional travel for conferences and church-network intensives, because we want you sharpening, not just spending. Some lifting. Occasionally up to 50 lbs.
