KVOE has an immediate opening for a dedicated, experienced, and motivated News Person and on-air talent to join our award-winning newsroom. This role requires someone with a passion for local news and the ability to deliver quality content on-air and online. Main Responsibilities  Produce daily newscasts, digital content, and social media updates.  Serve as an anchor of KVOE Newscasts - Mornings or Afternoons  Build and maintain a strong network of news sources and contacts across Emporia, Lyon County, and surrounding communities.  Report on local government, community events, and breaking news, both on-air and online.  Attend and report on meetings, press conferences, and community events, which may occur in the evenings or on weekends.  Assist with severe weather coverage when needed.  Opportunity to do color or play-by-play for high school and/or college football and/or basketball Qualifications  Background in journalism  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to manage deadlines and lead a newsroom with confidence and professionalism. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be a self-starter who believes in local news coverage and can deliver a quality on-air performance.
