Job Description

The Director directs the student-driven BG24 BG Weekly newscast, pre-production and special video projects, ensuring professional quality and efficient use of resources under the supervision of BG Falcon Media advisers. Operate equipment in an efficient manner to produce clean, dynamic shows Work with social media team to ensure strong promotion Train technical crew members on procedures and proper use of equipment Select volunteer support staff Produces multiple pieces of content each week Works with Executive Producer, faculty adviser, and Director of Falcon Media to ensure efficient and professional operations Recruits and trains volunteers Ensures deadlines are met Ensures broadcasts are error-free and ethically sound Works closely with BG Falcon Media content directors to make sure BG24 editorial needs are fulfilled and in alignment with other content channels Works all weekly full newscasts, starting in Week 5 of each semester and ending the week before finals week Attends and actively participates in weekly BG24 production meetings Experience with BG24 productions Preferred majors: Journalism, Public Relations, Media Production & Studies, VCT Demonstrated video production skills Demonstrated news judgment and knowledge of University and community Demonstrated leadership skills
Minimum GPA:
2.25 This role requires approximately 8 to 10 hours per week during each semester with flexibility to align with academic schedule.
Stipend:
$1,900 annually, intended to support educational learning outcomes. This internship is eligible for academic credit with approval from student's program/college.
