WQOW and WXOW, Eau Claire and La Crosse's ABC affiliates, are seeking a dedicated, high-energy leader to serve as the editorial decision-maker and operational hub for our newsanization. This unique opportunity sits at the heart of a news market but provides the strategic advantage of directing two distinct stations, leveraging hyper-local coverage with separate news staff to bolster local reporting. As news director, you'll serve as the primary manager, overseeing daily content generation, mentoring newsroom talent, and driving our mission across broadcast, web, mobile, and social media platforms on deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct daily operations, lead editorial meetings, and supervise MMJs, anchors, and producers. Maximize hyper-local coverage advantages within the d market while fostering a collaborative, high-growth culture.
• Act as the primary editorial decision-maker for TV, web, mobile, and social media channels. Rapidly coordinate coverage for breaking news and severe weather events to maintain a continuous, reliable flow of information.
• Research, write, and produce daily newscasts. Partner with the regional producing hub and local anchors to deliver polished, timely, and engaging broadcasts.
• Monitor news scanners, cultivatemunity contacts across the market, and maintain on-call availability for major news events.
• Enforce top-tier standards of accuracy, visual storytelling, ethics, broadcast law, and legalpliance.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in journalism,munications, or another related field and a minimum of three years of experience in television news (as a producer, MMJ, or reporter). Previous management experience preferred, but high-potential candidates with other qualifying leadership roles will be considered.
