Duties and Responsibilities:

Photograph legislative sessions, committee hearings, official ceremonies, constituent events, and other House-related activities. Operates and maintains photographic, video, lighting, and related multimedia equipment. Edits, processes, and prepares photographs and visual media for publication and distribution. Maintains and organizes digital photo archives and asset management systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping and retrieval of images. Creates visual content for use on House websites, social media platforms, publications, presentations, and other communications materials. Coordinates with House members and staff to identify and document activities, events, and initiatives of public interest. Assists in developing and distributing informational and public relations materials that communicate the work of the Missouri House of Representatives. Assists with multimedia projects, including video production, graphic design, and other visual communications initiatives as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with House members, legislative staff, media representatives, and the public. Assists in evaluating, recommending, and procuring photographic and multimedia equipment and supplies. Maintains awareness of current photography, multimedia, and communications technologies and best practices. Exercises initiative, sound judgment, and professionalism in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge of professional photography techniques, composition, lighting, and image editing. Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and care of photographic and multimedia equipment. Knowledge of digital asset management and file organization practices. Working knowledge of social media platforms and digital communications strategies. Working knowledge of the legislative process or the ability to acquire such knowledge. Ability to perform duties in a strictly nonpartisan manner and follow direction through the established chain of command. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to translate concepts, events, and activities into compelling visual content. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, establish priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with legislators, staff, media representatives, and the public. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours during legislative session. Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs as necessary, and lift up to 25 pounds. Applicants must have the ability to remain objective, non-partisan, and professional regarding all legislative matters and work well under pressure with minimal supervision Qualifications - All you need for success

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Photography, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Multimedia Production, Visual Arts, or a closely related field preferred. Relevant professional photography, multimedia, communications, or journalism experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Experience with digital photography, photo editing software, and content management systems preferred. Experience in government, legislative, public affairs, or media environments is desirable. Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
