In this energetic position, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images of the retina using specialized ophthalmic imaging equipment, supporting four Retinal specialists in a growing practice in the heart of Winston Salem. Your attention to detail, patient service skills, and knowledge of medical imaging will contribute to exceptional patient outcomes and streamlined clinical workflows. Responsibilities Capture high-resolution photos of the retina & macula using OCT Heidelberg & OPTOS cameras. Guide and position patients, explain test procedures clearly, administer dilation eye drops when authorized, and monitor patient comfort and safety during photos/tests. Upload, review, and organize digital images into electronic medical records (EMR) for physician review. Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, ensuring understanding of procedures, and fostering a welcoming environment. Requirements Prior position(s) as an Ophthalmic Photographer with at least 3 years experience. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology related to the retina, and ophthalmic patient examinations is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical confidentiality policies enhances performance in this role. Proficiency in EMR/EHR management systems for accurate documentation of patient data and imaging results. Strong patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care and maintaining professionalism at all times. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow clinical protocols precisely. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
