Description Join the Artifact Generation team to revolutionize how creative content is delivered across Amazon Photos. As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll work on building a unified platform that powers engaging photo memory experiences—including animated stories, live photos, collages, and AI-generated content. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your full-stack engineering talents to create seamless experiences across iOS, Android, Web, and Alexa devices. Your creative problem-solving skills will directly impact millions of users as you help develop scalable architectures for rapid feature deployment.   • Design and implement features for our unified platform that delivers photo memory experiences across multiple devices and formats
  • Write clean, maintainable code following Amazon's Code Bar standards while making appropriate trade-offs between maintainability and efficiency
  • Collaborate with peers throughout the full software development lifecycle, from scoping and design through testing, documentation, and deployment
  • Actively participate in operational support for the team, identifying and resolving root causes of issues
  • Work independently with regular checkpoints to deliver software components that enhance our platform's capabilities in areas including generative AI and frontend technologies Key job responsibilities

You might spend the morning debugging a rendering issue affecting animated stories on iOS devices, collaborating with UX designers to ensure visual consistency. After lunch, you'll work on implementing new features for the unified platform, perhaps integrating a new AI-powered content generation capability or optimizing performance across devices. We create animated stories, live photos, collages, and AI-generated content that help customers preserve and enjoy their memories. Our approach emphasizes one platform for many experiences, ensuring cross-device consistency across iOS, Android, Web, and Alexa devices.   • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
