Duties and responsibilities: Write and edit engaging news stories for multimedia platforms. Copy-edit news articles for accuracy, spelling, and grammar. Monitor trends and social engagement through Google Analytics and Google Site Kit. Make data-driven decisions to optimize engagement and curate the News Journal social media platforms and website homepage. Film high-quality video and audio content for use on multiple platforms. Cover local news stories ranging from scheduled events to breaking news.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent and consecutive deadlines. Strong presentation and communication skills—both written and verbal. Comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics and WP Engine. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, broadcasting, or a related field is a plus—but not required.
