Heads up on location: This position will be based at our new Mandeville facility, currently in the planning phase. We're building the team now so we hit the ground running when the doors open. If you're on the Northshore — or willing to be — we want to hear from you.
About us Atelier Woodworks is a custom commercial millwork firm serving discerning clients across the Gulf South — hospitality, medical, education, retail, and more. We hold our work to AWI quality standards, back it with a 2-year workmanship guarantee, and run a shop where craftsmanship isn't just a word. We're growing deliberately, and this role is central to how we get where we're going. The role As Production Manager, you'll own the shop floor — scheduling, quality, throughput, and the team that makes it all happen. You'll lead a crew of 5 or more craftspeople, coordinate directly with project management and estimating, and be accountable for getting the right work out the door on time and to standard. This role comes with real authority and real accountability — and a compensation structure that rewards both. Base pay is paired with performance incentives tied to shop output and quality, so when the shop wins, you win. What you'll own Day-to-day shop floor scheduling — sequencing work, allocating labor, and keeping production moving without bottlenecks Quality control at every stage — from raw material through final inspection before delivery Leading and developing a crew of 6+ cabinetmakers and shop hands — setting the standard, holding it, and building people up Coordinating with estimating and project management so the shop always knows what's coming and when Identifying and surfacing process improvements — we're formalizing how the shop runs, and your input will help shape it Material and supply coordination — making sure the floor has what it needs, when it needs it Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment What we're looking for 5+ years in a production or shop leadership role — commercial millwork or custom woodworking strongly preferred Hands-on fabrication background — you understand how things are built because you've built them Proven experience leading a shop crew and holding people accountable without losing their respect Experience with Innergy software a big plus Familiarity with AWI standards and what quality commercial millwork actually looks like Strong communicator — clear with the crew, collaborative with project management and estimating Experience with production scheduling and workflow management in a custom or made-to-order environment Comfortable stepping into a role where some systems still need to be built — and energized by that, not deterred Who thrives here Our values are how we hire, how we hold each other accountable, and how we decide who fits.
