Glass City Ink is a professionally produced 1952 period proof-of-concept preparing for a two-day shoot in Hillsdale, Michigan, in early spring 2027. I am seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager/UPM to take ownership of production logistics during preproduction and through the shoot. This is not an advisory position; I need someone who can identify what needs to happen, establish timelines, coordinate the appropriate people and vendors, follow through, and keep the production moving without requiring me to personally manage every logistical detail.
Tasks include the following:
- -Location coordination: communicating with the property manager, access, agreements, insurance/COIs, permits and logistical requirements
- -Cast logistics: availability, travel, flights/ground transportation, lodging, arrival/departure planning and communication.
- -Crew logistics: coordinating department needs, schedules, local hires and practical production requirements.
- -Budget tracking: maintaining the production budget, tracking committed costs and payments against it, and flagging overages before they happen
- -Wardrobe, hair and makeup: making sure those departments/people are identified, booked, briefed and moving toward deadlines.
- -Production design/props interface: not choosing or dressing the props yourself, but making sure somebody owns each requirement and ensures that deadlines are being met.
- -Vendors and rentals: keeping track of what has to be sourced, rented, delivered, picked up and returned.
- -Insurance/contracts/releases/production paperwork: getting the process moving and making sure required documents actually happen.
- -Meals/craft/services, transportation, parking, bathrooms, holding areas, base camp, etc.
- -Production calendar and deadlines: turning all of this into an actual prep schedule instead of fifty floating conversations.
- -Keeping me informed about decisions that actually require input while handling the rest.
